Hi there! I'm Patrick Fiorilli.

I'm a Chicago-based writer, critic, and scholar of video games, literature, and media. My work is featured in scholarly journals like Game Studies and Angelaki, as well as in popular venues like the Los Angeles Review of Books. I've taught in the Media Arts and Design Program at the University of Chicago and in the Department of Radio/Television/Film at Northwestern University. Critical Theorycraft is my newsletter, where I'll share essays, impressions, and notes on the new, the old, the overrated, and the unsung.
